Luxurious Ladies’ Trip to Elegant Paris

In October, The Cancer Couch Foundation held the 2nd Annual Cancer Beat, which raised 1.2 million dollars to find a cure for metastatic breast cancer.  At the fundraiser lucky raffle winner Kyla Ricci won a trip to Paris, courtesy of Cruise and World Travel. Kyla surprised friend and Cancer Couch founder Dr. Rebecca Timlin-Scalera by choosing her as her travel companion. Joined by four other friends, they embarked on a short girls’ trip to their dream destination in February.

The Hotel Esprit St. Germain’s elegant and tranquil atmosphere was the perfect base for the short yet busy trip.  The lounge was open twenty-four hours and allowed Kyla and Rebecca the luxury of of enjoying coffee or champagne by the fire at any time of day.  As Rebecca stated, “It was like a home away from home.”

As they ventured into the charming Parisian streets, Kyla, Rebecca, and their friends, enjoyed constant sunshine and some of the city’s finest delicacies and spectacles.  Delectable macarons from Ladurée and a unique twist on classic French cuisine at Ma Cocotte were irresistible. They had an amazing tour of the Musée d’Orsay, home to masterpieces by Monet, Rodin, and countless others, as well as the Antique Market, where shoppers can purchase anything from vintage Hermès scarves to Chanel coats and handbags.  The architectural marvel that is the Louis Vuitton Foundation had innovative exhibitions featuring international artworks. The highlight of the trip was nonstop dancing and champagne at The Kong until the early hours of the morning. Paris was the trip of a lifetime for Kyla and Rebecca, and the city has plenty to offer for couples, families, and groups of close friends.
